Accessibility statement
This site aims to meet WCAG 2.1 level AA, the standard referenced by EN 301 549 and by UK public sector accessibility regulations. It is currently partially conformant: the exceptions are listed below rather than glossed.
What should work
Every page can be navigated by keyboard alone and opens with a skip link to the main content. Focus is always visible. Headings run in order, the navigation and main content are marked as landmarks, and the page language is declared.
Body text meets a 4.5-to-1 contrast ratio against its background throughout, and headline type meets at least 3-to-1. Text reflows to a single column on narrow screens and survives zooming to 400 per cent. Nothing depends on colour alone.
Motion is decorative and additive: if your system asks for reduced motion, the star field, the section reveals and smooth scrolling all switch off, and the content is simply there.
Known limitations
THE CONSORTIUM MAP
The map is a single image to assistive technology, with a text alternative naming every institution it marks. NIPARO, the industry partner, has no confirmed location and is not on the map. The same information is given as a written list of partners and coordinates on the page, so nothing is available only in the graphic.
THE MANOEUVRE CHART
On screens narrower than about 720 pixels the chart scrolls sideways inside its own frame rather than reflowing. Its full reading is given in the text alternative and in the caption.
PORTRAITS AND LOGOS
Team portraits and partner marks are not yet in place. Their text alternatives will be written when the images are supplied, not generated from filenames.
DOCUMENTS NOT YET PUBLISHED
Reports, policy briefs and the participant information sheet are still to come. Each will be published as tagged, readable PDF or as HTML; scanned or image-only files will not be used.
NOT YET INDEPENDENTLY TESTED
Conformance has been assessed by internal review against WCAG 2.1 AA. It has not been audited by a third party or tested with users of assistive technology, and this statement will be revised when it has been.
