If you take part in the research

Interviews and co-design sessions collect your name, your organisation and role, your contact details, and what you say. Where you consent to recording, the recording and its transcript are also personal data.

The lawful basis is public task: research carried out in the public interest. Consent governs recording and the level of attribution separately, and withdrawing it does not require a reason. You may be attributed by name, by sector only, or not at all, and you can change that choice at any point up to publication.

Who sees it

Research data is accessible to named members of the project team at the partner institutions, several of which are outside the UK and the EEA. Transfers rest on the University’s standard safeguards. Nothing is sold, and nothing is used for advertising or profiling.

Your rights

You may ask for a copy of the data held about you, ask for it to be corrected, object to its processing, or ask for it to be erased. Some rights are qualified where data is processed for research purposes and erasure would defeat the study — the notice will say which, once the retention schedule is confirmed.

Complaints can be made to the University’s data protection officer, and after that to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
